haenyo is partnership between Irvin Seo and Collin Morstein. The two, with the help of their team, organize dining events within existing restaurants. haenyo has no permanent kitchen nor dining room. The team travels from restaurant to restaurant, feeding their friends and making new ones. haenyo serves a menu written specifically for each venue, focused on local ingredients prepared in the Korean tradition.
Seo was born in Seoul and grew up in Portland, Oregon. Growing up, he helped his mother in preparing traditional ‘Korean farm food” and her sense and curiousity continues to inform his approach today. haenyo is an opportunity for him to cook and serve dishes of personal importance.
Morstein has spent his professional life working to increase the accessibility of responsibly-grown food. For him, haenyo’s commitment to serve good food grown by farmers who care is a top priority.
